MANDATE: James’ Place is our emergency assistance program for vulnerable people in our community. After Loonie Lunch each Wednesday, between 1 – 3 pm in the afternoon, a team of trained volunteers talk with registered people to determine their immediate short-term needs until a more permanent solution can be achieved. Short-term assistance might include food vouchers for essential items, bus tickets for urgent transportation, laundry coins, vouchers for critical health needs as well as supportive advocacy for individuals. We collaborate with other faith-based services for the larger more challenging financial needs.
